Brain Dissection

In Abby's gifted class they got to dissect a sheep's brain. She had alot of fun and her classmates did, too.

Molly's fan incident

The other night Molly was playing in her room like she always does when she should be sleeping. Well, she has a fan on her floor that we use for white noise so that she sleeps better. This particular night she started screaming like she was really hurt! Toby went to check on her and she was holding her head and pointing at the fan. He brought her downstairs to me and went to look at the fan. while he was gone, she pulled herself together enough to tell me that the fan got her hair. A few minutes later Toby comes down with the fan and this is what we found wrapped around the base of the blades. I could not find any bald spot or even redness on her head, so we gave her some tylenol and when she was all calmed down she went back to bed. By the way, we moved the fan from the floor to on top of her dresser!!

ABC song

Today I watched my friend's kids Bella (4) and Jack (2). Molly and Bella were trying to figure out how the ABC song goes...
Molly: "a b c d e f g s o s o s o p."
Bella: "no, it's a b c d e f g l m n o p."
Molly: (annunciating very carefully) "i think it is a b c d e f g h i j k mento mento p!"
Bella: "wait, i figured it out, it is a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y and z!!"

I am glad one of them finally got it right, but I thought mento sounded like a pretty good letter!!

Abby turns 7

For Abby's birthday we invited friends over and played and opened presents and had pizza and cake and ice cream. It was alot of fun, but that many 7 year old girls in my house at one time was quite loud!! Here is a picture of Thomas giving Abby his gift.
Here is Molly giving her gift to Abby. She picked some Barbie princess clothes and shoes (since they get lost so easily!).

Here are the gifts we got Abby. She has been asking for a pillow pet for a while now. You should have heard all the girls in the room in unison when she opened it "*gasp* a pillow pet!!!". I guess it was the most popular gift she got that day!!

And Sam. Her gift was a cute bank made out of a glass block and they put her name on the front in vinyl letters and a pretty princess crown on the back. Very pretty!!






Here is Abby's cake. I had so much to do that morning that I ended up buying her a cake from the pre-made Wal-Mart bakery case. It was pretty good and she loved that she got a store-bought cake!!

Happy 7th Birthday to my big girl!! We love you so much!!

"Winter" Parties at school

At our school they have "winter" parties because "Christmas" does not include everyone. So I volunteered to help out with their winter parties and caught a few pictures. Here is Abby with her teacher Mrs. Keith. Abby says she wants to be just like Mrs. Keith when she grows up! Abby with some of her friends in her class this year. They get to come to school in their jammies and play games and eat junk. It is a really fun day!

Thomas turns 9

Back in December we celebrated Thomas' ninth birthday by inviting a few of his friends to go bowling with us. They all had a great time and then we came back to our house for cake and presents. Here is a picture of Thomas with his friends Kevin, Roman, and Isaac.
