While driving home this afternoon, we saw a pair of ducks walking down the sidewalk in front of our house. We quickly pulled into the garage and the kids ran in and to get bread. Both Thomas and Abby fed the ducks a piece of bread while Molly watched. After they both ate a piece of bread, the ducks settled down on our lawn (I guess they knew a good thing when they saw it). The kids kept running to the windows to watch the ducks. Finally we let Molly go out and chase the ducks off. She ran toward the ducks and when they didn't instantly fly away, Molly got worried. The ducks then looked at her and her courage failed...she ran away while the ducks just kept looking at her. Finally Thomas and Abby showed Molly how to chase away birds and ran screaming at the ducks. They flew across the street and settled on the neighbor's lawn. Once they were across the street, Molly's courage returned and she yelled at the birds...as long as they stayed on their side of the street.

That is a really good story - and funny! I love how their little personalities show through in stressful situations, like when ducks take over the front lawn and you are put in charge of the evacuation...I don't blame her one bit - and if it had been geese, you couldn't pay me to do that job!
That's something that doesn't happen everyday in the front yard! My kids would have tried to catch them.
That is so funny that Thomas and Abby had to teach Molly how to chase ducks! I thought that was just instinctive in kids!
Ok, Amy, I checked your blog on a regular basis up until right before the big March 24th entry. See, here I am checking it again. Your little angels are so cute. Your big angel Tobs is also really cute.
